North is to the left of this image. Dark obscuring nebulae can be seen to the North and South of M11. The outer region of a vast dark dust cloud of Barnard 111 can be seen to the North (left) of M11. B111 is the dark bay that extends south from the rift in the Milky way into the northern part of the Scutum Star cloud.
The weather forecast for the night was wrong and the it turned out to be much clearer than expected.
