The Constellation of Orion
2004 late October from Great
Hockham, Norfolk, UK
Standard SLR camera and 50mm fl lens.
Tracking on a Losmandy G11 mount unguided.
Kodak Elite II colour 200 ISO film no filters
3 x 25 minute exposures combined in MaxIm and contrast stretched in Photoshop.
The image shows the huge arc of Barnards loop, the large circular nebula around Lambda Orionis, M42 and IC434 horsehead area as well as the Rosette nebula in Monoceros to the upper left. The night was interrupted many times by showers of rain so this was the only image secured that night.
